Rob Jones East Pond
Restoration Fund
It is with tremendous sadness that the members of the East Pond Board of Directors share that our President, Rob Jones, has died after a courageous battle with Covid-19. Rob was our guide, our mentor, our strong leader and our friend. There is no doubt that he loved East Pond and all of the watersheds and lakes in our area as he was a champion for the restoration and preservation of our precious resources. He and Diane cared for our injured birds transporting them to Avian Haven. Rob put Smithfield on the map with the WMTW weather map as it was his weather station that provided the information. Rob was a gentleman with a purpose; to preserve this beautiful piece of paradise for future generations.
In honor of Rob’s dedication to East Pond, the board has agreed to rename the restoration fund to the “Rob Jones East Pond Restoration Fund”. All of us are finding comfort in hearing Rob’s gentle voice reflecting his love for East Pond at the beginning of the video and it is truly a tribute to his legacy and an inspiration to all who love East Pond.

Rest in Peace our Friend, rest in peace.
