Don’t Let East Pond Slip Away
It’s easy to take a beautiful lake for granted—until the water turns green, the weeds take over, and the loons fall silent.
That was the direction East Pond was heading not long ago.
For over a decade, massive algae blooms clouded the water. Invasive plants began to creep in. Swimming wasn’t appealing. Fishing got harder. Property values dropped. And the lake we love started to slip away.
Thanks to the work of the East Pond Association—and the generosity of people like you—our lake is clear again. The water sparkles. The loons are flourishing. And the shorelines are full of life.
But this recovery isn’t permanent.
We still fight invasive plants every year. We’re working with residents to prevent runoff and erosion. And we need to build a reserve fund for the next lake-wide alum treatment—an expensive but critical step to prevent the return of annual algae blooms.
Protecting East Pond is ongoing work. It’s community work. And it only happens with your support.
Give today to keep East Pond healthy, swimmable, and beautiful—for all of us, and for generations to come.
